Mystery Bird
Mystery Bird was born in the wake of the pandemic of 2020, strict social distancing measures and the cancellation of our beloved live events. Many of us experienced a renewed interest in our natural surroundings during lockdown - discerning birdsong again at a time when the world was quietly held at a temporary standstill.
Inspired by this, we invited a collective of artists to bring their individual skills together to create Mystery Bird - an experimental travelling projected installation. Extraordinary paper artist Helen Musselwhite, incredible vocal artist Jason Singh, the brilliant projection team Illuminos, excellent local fabricators M3 Industries and our digital expert Jack Hardiker combined techniques to create a modern day carnival float complete with AR Instagram Filter.
Mystery Bird was devised and produced while we were working as Programme Producers for Quays Culture.
It has since been long-listed for the Aesthetica Art Prize 2022.
